If you can’t find this album in the Photos app, it means you didn’t give the app full access to your photo library. Without full access, the app cannot create the Compressed Videos album. To fix this, open the Settings application (the grey icon on your Home Screen), scroll down to the Compress section, tap on the Photos tab, and select All Photos.

This is not a bug. But if you use iCloud Photo Library, the video you are trying to compress might not actually be entirely on your iPhone, but rather just an optimized version of it. When you select it with the Compress Videos app, the app will actually first download it from iCloud to your library in order to process it.

A way to avoid this is simply to open the Photos app on your iPhone, look for the video you want to compress, and select it. It will be automatically downloaded from iCloud. From there, you can open the Compress Videos app and download it without having to wait for the loading indicator to spin.

There is no limit, but for performance reasons, we don’t recommend processing more than 10 videos at a time, especially if they are long videos.

This is a clear sign that your iPhone is under heavy load. To avoid this, make sure to compress less videos at a time.

First thing to do if the app tells you it can’t compress the video is to adjust frame rate and video size compression settings further down. For example, cut down frame rate to 24 and video dimensions to 60%.

If you adjusted the compression settings down, and the app is still telling you it can’t compress the video further, then there is nothing else you can do. It doesn’t mean the app is not working. It just means there is nothing the app can do for that specific video. This is usually the case for videos downloaded from social media (ie. from Instagram, WhatsApp, etc) where videos are already really compressed.

If you believe the app is not working as it should, a good way to test this is to record a new video using your iPhone Camera app, then open this video in the Compress Videos app. Reduce frame rate and dimensions and compress the video. You should see significant savings. This is the proof the app works.

This is happening because your iPhone or iPad is changing the video file format as you share it by email, or try to post it to a website.

To avoid this, select the video you want to share from the Photos app, click the Share icon, then select Options at the very top. Under Format, make sure to select “Current“.

There are 2 things you must do for this to happen:

1. If all the contacts in your text message are using an iPhone, by default, your iPhone will send the message as an iMessage. In a group iMessage, everyone can see responses from the group. If you don’t want this to happen, you must disable iMessage altogether by going into Settings > Messages, and turning off the iMessage toggle at the top. We understand this is not an ideal solution but we are limited by what Apple allows apps like ours to do.

2. With iMessage disabled, you iPhone will try to send the message as an MMS. In an MMS, everyone can see responses from the group. If you don’t want this to happen, you must disable the MMS feature by going to Settings > Messages, and turning off the MMS Messaging toggle.

With these two options disabled, you will unfortunately not be able to attach photos or images to your text messages. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience, but please understand we are limited by what Apple and carriers allow apps like ours to do.

Because not everyone uses iPhones, this could be a tricky situation.

First, make sure that iMessage and MMS Messaging options are enabled in Settings > Messages.

If everyone in the group uses an iPhone, the text will be sent as a group iMessage. If not everyone uses an iPhone but uses recent smartphones, the text will be sent as an MMS. In these situations, everyone will see responses from the group and will be able to reply to the group as well.

But if some members of the group are using older phones, it could break the chain and prevent these people from seeing everybody’s response, or even having the responses seen by everyone.

Please understand this has nothing to do with the application itself. This is all about the type of phones your contacts are using.

For group texts, you can follow these directions. Note that if for some reason you still cannot send photos, it is not related to the app itself but is rather a limitation of iOS. If that’s the case, you will first have to send a text to the group without any attachment. Then open the Messages app, find the group text, and attach the photo from there following the instructions linked above.

The app itself doesn’t have any limit, but some carriers do set some limits on their end. You will have to check with your carrier directly to find out what their limit is.

The likely reason this is happening is because your groups are too large. As mentioned above, the app itself has no limit as to how many contacts can be in a group text, however your cellular carrier definitely has limits (please read section above for more details on group limits).

You might have been able to send group texts to a large amount of recipient in the past, but your carrier could block this at any time. The reason why your carrier would block these messages is because they are likely considered as spam.

You may talk to your carrier about this issue, but from experience, I can tell you that most customer service representatives you talk to wouldn’t even be aware of this situation. They might even tell you this is not the issue. But believe me, it is the issue.

To prevent this from happening, make smaller groups. I suggest groups of no more than 10 people.

If you do not see a text field to type in your SMS and the keyboard is taking over the screen, tap on a name of phone number in the list to select it, then hit the Return key on your keyboard.

Yes and no. You can export all the contacts included in a group, but you cannot export a group that includes the contacts as well as the name of the group. So in short, the contacts in the group can be exported as a single file, but the name of the group cannot be exported.

To export the contacts from a group, select the group, then tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen. Select how you want to share the contacts (ie. email or text). The recipient will receive a .vcf file which can be imported into most phones or computers.

While it may actually look like you are exporting only one contact, all contacts in your group are actually being exported. The problem lays with how iOS shows the preview of the exported file, and unfortunately there is nothing I can do about it.

But try it for yourself. Send that file and the recipient will receive the entire group.

You can save photos, videos, stories, and IGTV videos to your iPhone. To do so, start by previewing the content in the Reshare app, then hit the Reshare button and select Reshare on Instagram. This will open up the Share sheet and automatically save the photo or video to your Camera roll. Note that you don’t have to reshare to Instagram for the photo/video to be saved to your Camera roll.

Simply tapping Reshare on Instagram will save the photo/video to your library.

Because of changes Instagram made recently, it is unfortunately impossible for Reshare to reliably work without first logging in to your Instagram account.

It is important to note that for security reasons, the login happens directly on Instagram’s website. The Reshare app does not log or even see your username and password at any point in time.

Once you are logged in, you can log out directly from the Reshare app settings screen.

Again, your username and password are never seen, let alone logged, by the Reshare app.

As a side note, be wary of applications that ask you to log in using their own login form. Only log in to an Instagram-related app using Instagram’s own login form, similar to the one used by Reshare or Instagram.com in a web browser.

The Copy Caption feature does not and cannot work for Reels.

Note that the Copy Caption feature, as its name suggests, only copies the caption. This feature doesn’t automatically paste the caption into your reshare.

When you enable the Copy Caption feature, the caption will be automatically copied to your iPhone clipboard, but it cannot be automatically pasted into Instagram. You still have to manually paste the caption yourself.

To do that, tap and hold you finger on the text field that reads “write a caption,” then select Paste.

Sometimes, Instagram is simply having issues and when that is the case, the best thing to do is to simply wait a few minutes or hours.

If the issue persists, make sure that you have downloaded the latest version of Reshare and the latest version of Instagram. Then force-quit both Reshare and Instagram.

If the issue still persists, delete Reshare and install it again, then delete Instagram and install it again.

Also make sure you log in to your Instagram account from within the Reshare app. While the app can work without logging in, it is much faster and much more reliable to use when you log in.

This issue could also be caused by your internet connection. To rule out your internet connection as the cause, connect to a different Wi-Fi network and try using Reshare. You can also turn off Wi-Fi entirely and only connect using your cellular provider.

Due to limitations set by Apple and Instagram, Reshare cannot post multiple photos at the same time, neither can any similar application in the App Store.

However, Reshare can display previews of Instagram posts that show multiple photos or videos, but you will have to post each of them separately.

If Apple or Instagram ever allow for multiple photos/videos uploads at once, we will definitely implement the feature. It’s just not possible at this time.

We believe this happens when the user who originally published the story adjusted the image to fit his specific device’s screen size better.

To get around this, do the following:

1. Preview the story and tap the Reshare button. This will open the Instagram share sheet, and it will automatically save the story to your iPhone photo library.

2. Do not reshare the story from the Instagram share sheet that you see. Instead, close the share sheet.

3. Now create a new story manually and use the story that was saved automatically to your library.

4. Adjust the image as you see fit, and publish it.

Finally, enable iCloud Sync on your new iPhone or iPad, and the app will import all your birthdays and keep them in sync across devices. Depending on how many birthdays you have, it may take a few minutes. If you experience issues, closing and opening the app again typically helps.

There are several things you can check to:

1) Go to Settings app > Notifications > Birthdays, and make sure that the Allow Notifications option is enabled.

2) Open the Birthday Reminder app, go to the Settings panel, and make sure that reminders are Enabled.

3) If both these options mentioned above are enabled, make sure you didn’t overwrite notification settings for individual birthdays. To do so, go to the list of birthdays, and select a contact for which you didn’t receive a notification. Scroll down to the bottom, and make sure that the Enable Reminders option is enabled.

4) As a test, create a new birthday inside the app with a date of birth set to today’s date. When that fake birthday is created, adjust the Custom Reminder setting for this specific contact and have the notification time set to 1 hour in the future. Close the app and wait an hour to see if the notification fires as expected. If it doesn’t, go to step 5.

5) If all of the above failed, the last resort is to delete the app and download it again. Depending on your setup, it might have some pretty big caveats though.

If you imported all your birthdays from your contacts, then you will not lose anything by deleting the app and downloading it again.

If you have the Plus version of the app and enabled iCloud sync, then you will not lose anything by deleting the app and downloading it again.

If you are using the free version of the app and don’t have the Plus version, all your birthdays will be lost. One way around this would be to upgrade to the Plus version, or to simply write down all birthdays on a piece of paper, although we are aware this can be very tedious if you have dozens of birthdays stored in the app. Unfortunately, there is no other way around, which is why deleting the app and downloading it again should be the last troubleshooting step that you take.

For birthdays that are imported from your contacts, you can only hide them inside the app. To do that, tap on a birthday, then tap the Edit button at the top. Then scroll all the way down, and tap on Hide. The birthday will be hidden from your list. You can unhide the birthday at any time by going into the app’s settings screen. If you want to permanently delete this birthday, you will have to go into your Contacts app and remove the birthday from the person’s contact card.

For birthdays that were added directly with the app, tap on the birthday you want to delete, then tap on the Edit button, then scroll all the way down, and select Delete. Confirm you want to delete the birthday and this person will removed from the app permanently.

Sure! Although Birthday Reminder was designed to keep track of birthdays, it can also be used to keep track of other life events such as anniversaries, holidays, and more.

Simply create a new entry and apply the appropriate label to it. For example, instead of adding a name to the birthday you are creating, you can call it “Mary & Tom’s anniversary,” or “Grayson’s graduation,” etc…

But really, if you want to track other life events, you should really check out our free app called Event Countdown. Chances are, it will do exactly what you’re looking for.
